Chaplain of Pets is an Interfaith Ministry that offers Compassion, Empathy, Comfort and Kindness to Pets and their Human Families during times of Loss, Sickness, Transition and Grief.
SPECIAL BLESSINGS FOR THE PET IN NEED
As clergy concerned with serving pets and their families, we have the opportunity to present another side to the role of reaching out to pets who are sick, alone, suffering, dying, in recovery both mentally and physically, or are otherwise in need of comfort, love and attention. Spiritual support, which is so needed by human beings, is also needed by pets, who are also spiritual beings.
Offering the sacraments of Spiritual Support to a Pet in Need is done through the same methods and spiritual principals that we as humans beings receive our Spiritual Support, Help and Strength.
Some Clergy and a few Churches offer Special Pet Blessing ceremonies each year in the honor of Saint Francis. These Pet Blessings are usually held during the month of October or in the Spring near Easter time.
We firmly believe and hold to the spiritual truths that these Special Pet Blessings can and should be done as often as needed, especially for the Pet that is in need.
Because of our strong belief in ministering to the spiritual needs of our Pets, this ministry has made available the sacraments used for these Special Pet Blessings.
HOLY WATER A means of Spiritual Wealth
Throughout the ages, Holy Water has played a significant role in many religions. Its primary functions have been to ward off or wash away evil, sins, iniquities and/or infirmities and to join us in closer communion with God. Blessing with Holy Water imbues us with the Lord's Holy being. Although our Pets are sinless and are divine in nature, Holy Water is used to impart God's Special Blessings.

Anointing with Oil was a common Biblical practice, which continues today. In the Bible, people, places and things were anointed with Holy Oil. The ceremony of "anointing with Holy Oil" means to make Sacred, to consecrate or to set apart, and dedicate it for use unto our CREATOR. Anointing with Oil is for our Healing both Spiritually and Physically!
"... and your yoke will be destroyed because of the anointing oil." Isaiah 10:27 Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up...
